Year 10 Netball Tournament
On Tuesday 17th March fifteen Year 10 students competed in the Bexley Netball tournament. They have been training since September and this was their opportunity to put into practice everything they had learnt, developed and practised. DGGS had two teams participating in this event and both did not disappoint. They demonstrated excellent teamwork and their team spirit was outstanding. One of their best attributes was the amount of interceptions that were made in each match and the turnovers they produced. They were able to move the ball freely down the court creating space and illustrating very good dodges. Both teams had six matches in total with the B team drawing one match, narrowly losing three and securing two wins against Lift Bexleyheath A and B teams. The A team narrowly lost two of their matches but achieved victories over St. Catherine's, Lift Bexleyheath A and B teams and our own B team. Massive congratulations to everybody who played and represented themselves and DGGS so well. The B team was placed 5th overall and the A team 3rd. Two excellent results.
Well done to Anita, Emma, Naia, Alina, Isabelle, Adesope, Ogo, Naomi, Damilola, Aimua, Nabilah, Demi, Haleema, Joy and Elozino. Extra special congratulations should go to Emma and Demi who were voted as players of the tournament for DGGS.
A huge well done on a great season this academic year, your commitment to training sessions and the excellent sporting attitude and effort you have shown is commendable. The PE department and school community are very proud of you all. Well done and we look forward to next season.
