Step Up to Sixth Form Event
On Monday 22nd June we welcomed our Year 11s back into school to experience their first day as a Sixth Form student. They attended sessions in their chosen A Level subjects, which were led by the Curriculum Area Leaders and Year 12 students currently taking the course. In addition to this, Year 12 students led team building activities and a study skills session to enable the Year 11s to 'Step Up' to meet the expectations of Sixth Form. Our Head Students led an assembly, and Priscilla and Nifemi performed a dance to end the day. Staff and student feedback has been incredibly positive, saying how mature and inquisitive the Year 11 students were in the sessions, and the Year 11 students have started to leave feedback for the helpers in Year 12, and the staff involved.
Feedback from Year 11 to our Year 12 students and staff:
- Jessica - You were so welcoming and lovely during the history session today! I can tell you know the subject very well and I hope you do well in your A Levels.
- Precious - Thank you so much for being so friendly and understanding when I couldn’t grasp the chemistry concepts!
- Asia - Thank you for all the website and app recommendations for revision, this was so helpful, and your charisma and enthusiasm towards French has inspired me.
- Priscilla - Thank you for giving me your own experience and thoughts on your A Level choices and I hope you get those A*s!
- Mr Russell - You made the theatre studies session so much fun. Thank you for reminding me that I'm free to be myself in drama!
- Mr Martínez - Thank you for giving me an interesting insight into A Level Spanish.
- Miss Cooper - Thank you for organising this whole event as it was very insightful and helpful!
