Dartford Grammar School for Girls

Oxbridge Assembly

On Friday 8th May Year 10 and Year 12 students were visited by Lena Sorochina, Access & Participation Manager at St Hugh's College, University of Oxford. Year 10 were able to learn about the process of applying for top universities, to begin considering their post-16 options and the importance of GCSEs, and how these will lead on to the choices of courses they could make at university level. Year 12 students then had the option to attend a personal statement workshop; the students who attended this learnt about how to reflect on super-curricular activities they have undertaken as well as things to avoid in writing their personal statement. The students found this an extremely useful workshop to attend in order to help them with drafting their personal statement for their university applications next year.
