Dartford Grammar School for Girls

"Exceptional"

Ofsted Report

We are delighted that Dartford Grammar School for Girls has received a fantastic Ofsted report, following the inspection that took place on 17th and 18th March 2026. The report recognises "exceptional" practice across four areas - Achievement, Attendance and Behaviour, Personal Development and Wellbeing, and Post 16 Provision (Sixth Form). The three remaining areas - Teaching and Curriculum, Inclusion and Leadership and Governance were evaluated as "Strong Standard", just below "Exceptional". Under this new Ofsted framework, the very highest judgement of “Exceptional” is used extremely rarely, and only where practice is of the highest standard nationally.
The inspection report is an absolutely superb outcome for the whole school community and I am extremely proud of our students and staff. In their feedback, inspectors were overwhelmingly positive about DGGS and recognised that it is a very special and unique school, where students "thrive".
