Visit from Theresa Lola
As part of Black History Month, on Thursday 12th October 2023 Year 9 students attended a poetry workshop run by Theresa Lola with a focus on writing poems based on the landscape of their local area. Encouraging Year 9 to think about the sights and sounds of everyday life where they live, Theresa inspired some thoughtful, original poems that reflected the diversity of backgrounds and environments experienced by our students. The workshop gave everyone a chance to try their hand at writing poetry and re-ignited the creative passion that comes from using language to express ourselves.
