DGGS Spring Concert 2023

On the 23rd March 2023, DGGS held their annual Spring Music Concert. The event opened with an exciting arrangement of Brahms’ ‘Hungarian Dance No. 5’ merging the Orchestra and instrumentalists from Y12 Band. In contrast, the DGGS Choir closed the concert with a moving performance of ‘Chasing Cars’ and a South African folk song ‘Siyahamba’ sung in three-part harmony.  Throughout the evening we heard from all the diverse and numerous musical ensembles that rehearse every week under the direction of Miss Zgoda and Miss Petty, including: Recorder Club, Guitar Ensemble, Flute Ensemble, String Ensemble, as well as our several choirs. 

The concert was a huge success and received positive feedback from audience members. The event also showcased the importance music has in celebrating different cultures and genres, and uniting students of all abilities and ages, from Years 7 to 13.
